  1. Introduction to Macroeconomics: Fundamental Concepts and Main Discussions and Disagreements
  2. Classical Macroconomic Analysis
  3. Keynesian Macroeconomics: The Structural Equations, Short-run Analysis, Convergency or Stability, Alternative Government Policies, Money-Wage Rigidity
  4. Expectations: Adaptive Expectations, Inflationary Expectations and Monetary Instrument Question, Perfect Foresight, Rational Expectations and Lucas Critique, Policy Effectiveness,
  5. Time Inconsistency, Announcement Effects

Course Objective and Fulfillments to be obtained by Students

 

To fill the gap between intermediate texts and the advanced analysis found in the economic theory journals. Attempt to teach macroeconomics by schools and methods. This course covers selected major areas of modern macroeconomics. One objective is to expose students to both theoretical approaches and analytical techniques. In addition, the module will provide students with an understanding of applied macroeconomic research. Much of the reading will be from original articles in research journals.
