Course Content

To teach traditional and modern theories of development and policies in an advanced level. Various schools and approaches in Development Economics and Growth are investigated in a detailed manner. Domestic Issues to be analyzed are Income inequality, Poverty, Population Issues, Urbanization, Rural-Urban migration, Human capital, Agricultural transformation and Environment. International Aspects of development to be examined are as follows: External Trade Theory and Policy, Balance of Payment, Foreign Debt and finance and International Political Economy.

 

Course Objective and Fulfillments to be obtained by Students

 

The course is aimed to analyze economic development and growth issues in an advanced level. Another aim of the course is to develop students’ ability to participate in discussions, make presentations, make researches and write papers.
