Course Content

Financial markets and financial system, definition of money, interest rates, the theory of asset demand and portfolio choice, term and risk structure of interest rates, money supply process, determinants of money supply, money multiplier, central bank’s balance sheet, instruments, targets and goals of monetary policy

Course Objective and Fulfillments to be obtained by Students

 

To discuss monetary issues at an introductory theoretical level. Students will learn money creation process and functioning of financial markets.
